Although
widely used throughout Europe and Asia
for many years, the Fischer ACT –
Advanced Curtainwall Technology System
made its first appearance here in the
U.S. on the “Octagon Project” in New
York. The framework was preassembled at
the contractors’ warehouse and then
erected on site. The stone panels were
predrilled, the anchors were set and the
brackets were installed at the warehouse
and then the panels were “hung” in
place. As many as 80 stone panels were
set per day.
